A POP (Post Office Protocol) mail account is an e-mail account that resides on a server. If you want to access your POP ACCOUNT i.e. if you want to send / receive your POP account e-mails; all you need to do is organize your mail program/client for this POP account. You can use your POP account using our web mail, which allows you to access e-mail from anywhere using a browser connected to the Internet.

The POP mail account feature allows you to access your incoming messages on the Bigfoot mail server from different client platforms. It collects e-mail periodically using your mail "client" program such as Outlook, Outlook Express, or Eudora to connect to the Bigfoot server and download all your pending mails to your PC. In simple words, POP mail account acts as a collector that gathers e-mail from other programs and compiles them for easy, one-time access.

POP mail account is the most recent version of the protocol.

All configuration of the POP account is done through forms in a web browser.

The User ID for the POP accounts is NOT necessarily the same as your web hosting account user ID. You need to assign unique IDs and passwords for access to the POP email accounts to ensure privacy.

Do NOT put www. before the domain name in your POP settings. If the domain name does not work alone, try putting "mail." in front, as in: "mail.yourdomain.com".
